So one of the main reasons I started this blog was because I want to evolve my current style and be more bold in the choices that I make when it comes to fashion. I tend to stick to monochrome colours and plain and easy clothing because I have always been scared to wear colour or out-there items. Although I've always tried to be "fashionable" and bought items that are on trend, I would always stick to the simple pieces rather than experimenting with different styles.
One of the biggest influences I have had to this "New Me" and which actually inspired the name of this blog, was Pinterest. I've recently fallen in love with the Pinterest and constantly find new styles and looks I want to try out.
This post consists of 3 different outfits I have found on Pinterest and tried to re-create, all of which aren't typically me.
Outfit 1
To re-create this look I found this top from Boohoo.com, in the petite section- although I am not petite I am only 5'4 so I found this top to be nice in length. The colour is slightly different than that in the Pinterest image, however I do actually prefer this mink colour on me.
I paired the top with some plain black jeans from Primark as I haven't found any ripped ones I like at the moment but I think they look great without them anyway!
Instead of a platform pair of shoes I opted for a pair of flats which are a similar colour to the top- these are from Newlook.
I love the detailing of the shoulder area as it gives a lovely texture to the top, and isn't too tight on the upper arms.
Outfit 2
I LOVE the mix of textures in this look.
The first item I used to re-create this look is the beautiful white/ cream jumper from topshop. It's super soft and cosy!
The second par of the outfit: the skirt, I wasn't a massive fan of the patent look in the first one, but I still wanted a nice leather skirt to go with the jumper. This one I found is from New Look. I find their leather look skirts are a great fit on me; I haven't found any anywhere else that fit me at all due to my big bum and thighs and small waist.
Outfit 3
This look was definitely my favourite to re-create as I didn't think I would find a top so similar to the one from Pinterest, but this beautiful embroidered cropped bardot from New Look absolutely did it for me! Although this embroidery is on the elbows as opposed to the end of the sleeves I actually prefer it, as its something I have't seen before. The sleeves are still slightly flared, but the top itself is actually cropped with a elastic around the bottom, similarly to the shoulders of the top. I again, prefer this look as I think it cinches in the waist more!
I already has some blue jeans from Primark in my wardrobe so I paired the top with those and my lovely nude/ pink flats from New Look too.
I love how intricate and detailed the embroidery is compared to a lot of pieces that look quite cheap. It really does make the whole outfit, and will look lovely through the spring and summer months!
